Crazy thing is, Pitt's probably the only team I give a real chance to make the Final Four. I don't see the other 10 even making it to the Elite Eight.

Props to those guys for bringing their A game to an 11 a.m. Pacific tip, considering how late the parties probably went last night.

The cbs camera crew is cracking me up. They want to show the sdsu student section but not the signs that verne said are not broadcast friendly but very creative.

Verne & crew said they were all camped out for a couple of days and there was a pretty bad storm that went through last night. Said they were all worried about them and how they got through it. Clark (in a rare moment of wit) said "determination, and a few other unmentionables, I'm sure."

It's been years since SDSU was relevant in any kind of major national sports discussion, so I'm sure a little rain wasn't going to put a damper on things. I heard all about the storm from my girlfriend ... sounded pretty bad. I'm listening to the local broadcast, and they're talking about Mission Valley being flooded ... the school, being up on Montezuma Mesa, should be fine.

BYU's been our nemesis forever, (52-52 football tie, anyone?) so that's only added to the craziness, I'm guessing.

    Having a 27-2 record: Great!
Having those two losses to the same conference foe: Bad
Having those two losses each be by 13 points: Really bad
Having the opponent for both be BYU: Really sucks.

Oh, and the fans were really developing a good rep on national TV over the first three-fourths of the game -- and then some asshole has to throw something on the court. Way to go, dickhead.

I ended up giving up on the online stream, because it was first two and then three possessions behind the radio feed. I shut off the online thing and just listened to Leitner on the radio. Didn't hear anything about the asshat throwing something on the court, but I hope he'll be dealt with severely.

Great looking arena, by the way. My first time ever seeing it on TV. Nice to see that all those student fees I paid helped build such a nice venue.

Had the opportunity to watch Marquette and UConn the other night.

    Yuck.

Some of the most sloppy, dumb basketball I've seen in a long time.

Lot of athletes. Not a lot of basketball players.

And the coaching? I know Calhoun was away but man it was bad.

They may be blowing their wad too soon, but I absolutely believe in St. John's, even before today.

Blaney acknowledged after the game his substitution patterns were for shit.

    And . . . yes, they were.

Was listening to the horrible Westwood One radio broadcast, and it sounded as if the crowd was chanting, "B-Y-F-U" . . . brilliant, if true.

When we used to play UCLA in football, they'd sell "FUCLA" T-shirts on campus during game week. That was usually our only chance for fun all week, because UCLA always wiped the floor with us.
