And Winthrop, which finished 9-9 and in a tie for fifth in the Big South, beat Wake Forest on the road ...

Hell, VCU - losers of three straight at home and like five of past six or some such, beaten to a pulp by ALL its main rivals IN Richmond - whipped Wake.

So using above chain, VCU and Wake are IN BAYBEE!!

I had the UVA game on briefly yesterday. Up six or so. Went out to get some things I need, run some errands before heading back north (this two-city stuff is going to get interesting) and I see the final is about 30 in favor of BC. WTF happened?

Later text from my son. I didn't watch the game, was at True Grit with The Queen

HIM: Off to do my naked lap.

That's how I knew VT won. My son and his buds do a naked lap whenever VT beats a No. 1 team. May have been problematic last night as they were in a crowded bar in a crowded area. But I put nothing past them when they're on a "Hokie High."

Purdue laying the lumber to Sparty on its own home floor. Talk about the wheels coming off. Have fun in the NIT, Fizzo.

Anybody watch Pitt-Louisville? I was SOOO rooting for Pitt to nail a Hail Mary three at the end of OT. Louisville is up three, Kuric can run out the clock but foolishly opts for the breakaway dunk with less than a second left. So the cheerleaders go crazy and one steroidal dope grabs the ball and flings it in the air. Tech. They put .5 back on the clock, Pitt makes two free throws, but can't get the heave to go. Damn.

    A naked lap?
Around a track? Around a block? Around the Daytona International Speedway?
    Completely naked?

Well, when he lived in Blacksburg, it was around his block. Now? Wherever they happen to be.

I think they leave on their shoes but I wouldn't swear to it. My granddog went with them once and she had to take off her collar.

That kid would have never been seen again of Pitt hits that 3, then wins in a second OT. But, he didn't! Go Cards!!!!!! Surprise team of the year.

Pitino was ripping Kuric's ass for not running out the clock.

Surprise team of the year? Not sure Louisville even wins that title in its own conference, because that would be St. John's.

Who's your No. 1 now? I voted KU over Ohio State. Better total body of work, better February. I voted BYU No. 3, somewhat reluctantly. I was ready to put Pitt there, BUT...

I would've thought Ohio State with the better overall body of work being in the Big Ten, but then I realized KU might actually have more wins over potential tournament teams in conference (Colorado twice, K-State, Mizzou, Baylor) than Ohio State (Illinois twice, Purdue, Michigan State).

I'm biased, I would like to see KU get a second chance at the top going into a week with games against Texas A&M (senior night in Lawrence) and at Mizzou. See if the Jayhawks can handle it better this time.

Biggest winner over the weekend was probably BYU. Even if it's not a No. 1 seed, you have to figure it would be a No. 2 out West, with the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight in Anaheim.

Seems like the MWC case in general got hurt by BYU's convincing win over the Aztecs at their own place, on CBS, no less. People were trying to make a case for the MWC winner to get a No. 1 tournament seed and maybe the runner-up to get a very high seed. BYU may very well wind up there, but if San Diego State could have held serve on Saturday, the tide raises all (well, both) boats. Didn't happen.

And the kid absolutely sucked rocks against the Hokies. It is to laugh.
