Wouldn't a loss to any of the Big East bottom five be a bad loss? I don't think any of those teams did enough to be labeled as "competitive teas who just couldn't stack up against the Big East powers." Possible exception is Providence.

Tickets wouldn't be a problem no matter where Mason plays. I know several people who are season ticket holders. That's how I got tickets to each game in 2006. Just not in the budget this time around. It was nice when I didn't own a house and have actual responsibilities.

Pat Kennedy somehow couldn't parlay his 4-26 season into keeping his job at Towson:

Thing is, someone with memories of his time at Iona and Florida State will give him a chance. Old coaches don't die, they just get crappier jobs.

Losing to Providence is where Nova's troubles really began.
As for Marquette, if they can't beat the same Friar team they bitchslapped at home last week, they don't deserve a bid.

When I was in college (and drunk and stupid) Texas Tech came to KU for the first time with Bob Knight as the coach and the student section heckled the old man pretty good. A few of my friends and I thought it would be more fun to let Pat have it, so we screamed at him about how our parents never kicked us and his dad didn't love him. It was stupid, but I think Pat got a kick out of it.

This should be hatchet week (next week too) in college basketball. We know about Knight and Kennedy. Who's next?

In my neck of the woods, there's a death watch at Lamar and Southern. Neither of those teams qualified for their conference tournament, so it could happen quickly there. Most other conferences are still days away from the firing frenzy because of the pending conference tournaments.

Sidney Lowe and Paul Hewitt could both be unemployed by the weekend.

I think Zaga is in win or lose. Not sure about St. Mary's. Best bet for WCC to have two bids is a St. Mary's win.

Can't wait for this game though, should be a good one.

Don't look now, but VCU is making a run after being down big at halftime. The Richmond Coliseum is rocking.

VCU couldn't quite get over the hump. Probably only two bids for the CAA.
