I think it's great that Billy Packer just realized that ESPN could do a better job with the tourney. Amazing that he didn't realize it when he was under contract to CBS.

Give the Ivy two bids. With the bubble this weak why the hell not?

Looks like Versus, although the glare off the TV is something fierce right now.

Speaking of epic gack jobs, UTEP and the Mighty Floyds pulled a good one today in the Coosa championship game. Up 12 with 6 minutes to play at home, then missed three free throws (including two front-ends of 1-and-1s) and lost 67-66 to Memphis, which I will say here and now are the luckiest bunch of pukes who ever walked the earth.

Still think UTEP will get an at-large to the NCAA, while UAB can pet ready to start selling tickets for its NIT opener at the Bartow Arena.

Whoever the production team is in Vegas is having a tough time controlling the glare at the Thomas & Mack. It was a problem on The Mtn. on Thursday and on CBS College Sports yesterday.

Virginia Tech's ACC past five games amount to losing to losing to a pair of bubble teams (getting blown out by one), beating a bad, bad team with a lame-duck coach, a controversial win against an OK team missing its best player and a blowout loss to Duke. I think you can call that doing the absolute minimum required to stay in the tournament field.

With the bubble as soft as it is, it should be enough.

I think it will be, just pointing out the Hokies could have played their way off the bubble and instead did the bare minimum.

Without question. Seth Greenberg is tough-minded coach and recruits kids who don't back down from anyone. IMO, mostly likeable. But the whining in regards to the committee and the capable-of-so-much-more-but-gagging-entirely-too-often hold him - and Virginia Tech - back a bit.
