Yeah, Lord knows he's a terribly overrated coach. Just ask Matta, Calipari and Self this year.

Didn't say he was overrated. That team has looked pretty undisciplined at times this year. Like, who the hell gets a 10-second violation in crunch time?

They're saying Turner didn't shake hands. Not a big deal as far as I'm concerned but I'm sure he'll get shit for it if it's true.

Yep. I long for the days UT had a disciplined team led by a disciplined coach like Kevin O'Neill. Those 39-36 games were heart stoppers.

And Northern Iowa is finished. Didn't make enough 3s and were uncharacteristically poor at the line.

When was the last time Northern Iowa made a basket?

Duke-Purdue is ... well ... making me want to stick a screwdriver in one of my electrical sockets just to cure boredom.

At the end of the game, there was a close up of Turner on the floor. Someone was offering a hand to help him up. He ignored it, got up and appeared to head straight for the locker room.

(EDIT: The Yahoo blog said it was a teammate he ignored. From the replay angle I saw, you could only see the other guy's arm, so you couldn't tell if it was a teammate or a Tennessee player.)

If there was ever a time for a team like UNI to make the Final Four it was this. That bracket set up great for them and they completely choked in the second half. Didn't make free throws. Didn't score a field goal over the last 11 minutes or so. And didn't put the clamps down on the Spartans in a situation when they usually suffocate the other team. They didn't seem confident in the second half at all and they dominated the first half. Maybe the pressure caught up to them.

Michigan State is a pretty tough defensive team though. They always have been under Izzo.

It may have been some pressure for UNI, but you can't discount the MSU defense either.
