A militia compound in Idaho? Do they allow black people in places like that?

But you are right, it is an amazing thing that has happened this year - I am forced to root for Duke......

  2. That 2002 Indiana team was one of those that just underachieved in the regular season. Jeffries was a top five national recruit - he won Mr. Basketball in Indiana over Zach Randolph and has set his family for life now for several generations with a decent NBA career. Coverdale was a veteran and former Indiana Mr. Basketball. Fife was a huge recruit from Michigan (his brother was Dugan Fife) and Mr. Basketball in that state, I believe. Hornsby could shoot. A.J. Moye was a big recruit out of Atlanta. Newton and Leach were long, athletic underachievers.

Indiana fans (and I'm one by birth, though not going to school there and working in this profession has kind of beat fandom out of me) don't seem to care much for that team. The 1975 team that went undefeated in the regular season before Scott May got hurt and the 1992 Final Four team are much more revered.

  3. I saw three black guys standing on a corner with a Lyndon LaRouche poster the other day. I don't think they discriminate.

  5. Girl Scouts were selling cookies across the street on the other corner. God bless the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Even North Carolina's pulling for Butler now:

Wait, I think I just thought of the winner. I believe there were SIX in the 98 title game between Utah (Doleac, Mottola, Jensen, white shooting guard whose name I can't remember) and Kentucky (Sheppard, Padgett).

  8. The ghost of Adolph Rupp was torn about that one.

That it's almost 50-50 in the state is a small upset considering UNC, Wake and State all hate Duke the other 49 weeks of the year.

Four hours until tip-off -- time for predictions.....

Duke 70, Butler 58 -- Two of the "big three" have a good game and the Blue Devils size is too much for the Bulldogs

Would love to see a good game and even a Butler victory, but this has the malodorous whiff of inevitability. Duke 74, Butler 49

Don't know about some of the other seniors stoney mentions, but I don't think Sherron Collins improved any from where he was last year.
