Nike out did themselves with the ugliness of the Duke championship hats and shirts, but maybe they figured there was no need to put a logo on the front since a Duke fan would wear it backwards anyway, and the Ed Hardy-esque net around the neck adds to the douchiness.

BTExpress obviously has a desire to die a very painful death that includes some sort of penance process for this Steelersnation heresy....[\SportsJournalists.com Steelers fanboys]

Stoney - I'm not trying to be a smart ass here but is Brad Stevens your uncle or brother or something?

I mean, for God's sakes your ultra-defensive tone about all things Butler is reaching OOP/93 Devil/Proudpittsburgher-level of delusional fanboyism.

Butler was a very good team.

They are not a great team. Not even close.

    It was a great story.

It was the perfect storm for a team like that to make it that far and they did what they needed to do to get there and deserve credit, but Jesus, you are getting ridiculous in your attempts to portray this team as fucking 1990 UNLV and your attempts to portray Gordon Hayward as the next James Worthy or something.

BTExpress is correct, of course. For ONE YEAR, 85 Bears were the stone
nuts. Should have lasted longer, but blame Bear idiot management.

I was in the upper reaches of the Superdome, too. It was just like being at the game!

    Junkie,

I thought it was a great game. To me, what determines that is the competition level. Are both teams going hard? Obviously, it's important that the game be close, but the intensity/compete level of the two teams was at an apex for the duration. I get caught up in games like that.

    He definitely should leave.

For one thing - if you look at the history of teams from the Horizon League and others of its ilk, it isn't likley he'll be back in the Final Four at Butler because he's not going to be recruiting the top players.

Second, he is 33 years old -- if someone, like Phil Knight, is going to throw him $15 million over five years, he would be an idiot not to take it no matter what he thinks of the Oregon job because that would mean he's "fuck you rich" and set for life by the age of 38 - and even if he flames out at an Oregon, because of what he's accomplished, he could clearly get another job like he has at Butler - the only difference is, he's get $15 million in the bank before the age of 40.

Third - as well he coached these guys, at some point he'll not want to have to work so hard to get his team to win games and that means, he'll need to get better players.

Let's not forget, this team was a late (as in last ten seconds) turnover away from going home against Murray State, which says a lot about how hard this guy had to coach to get this team to where it landed.

More importantly - it was well played game.

Should you really intentionally miss a shot up by 2? I mean, go up 3, so the worst thing that happens is OT, not losing outright. In most situations, they're going to get a shot off anyway, even if it's a prayer. Just don't want that prayer to beat me.

Man, if that Hayward shot falls, the scrutiny over that little strategm would be blinding for K today.

Odds of losing on a hail-mary shot after a scramble for a rebound

    vs.

Odds of losing on a set play 3-pointer to tie, followed by overtime

    I'll take the former.

How much of a set play would they Butler have had with zero timeouts. This wasn't Laettner.
