Women's college basketball doesn't follow the rules of every other sport, though.

    Baylor, K-State get through.

Ok St., Kansas, Texas do not.

Missouri and AtM still hanging around.

It is hard to figure out the Big 12 right now.

All-time streak was 88 by UCLA. Some of those games were close, too. Some of the UConn games, not this year obviously, were close. That's one of the mark of truly great champions, winning when you're not playing near your best, using poise and willpower and those other intangibles.
The teams cited above by others were all really great teams. To me actually, watching a great team when it DOESN'T have it is one of the most interesting things in sports, seeing what's inside them more clearly.

A&M should beat the Boilers. Which would put Mark Turgeon, a KU alum, in the Sweet 16.

And Missouri winning would certainly up the misery index in Lawrence.

His mom grew up and played volleyball in Waverly, where I attended college at Wartburg at. She went to Wash. State where she had great success up there. I think she made a big mistake taking the Iowa job, where volleyball the volleyball program has never amounted to much. AD Gary Barta pretty much asked her to leave and she joined the Wartburg College stafff in running the new athletic facility until a month ago, when she was named the new VB coach at rival Luther College.

Ali was an all-stayer for Iowa City West when Cindy was coach at Iowa. No one could figured out how to slow him down in Steve Bergman's offense at City West.

He went the JUCO route when Jacobson found him and brought him to UNI.

By the way, a lot of people around here like to rip Bruce Pearl and some of it is justified but, this is now three Sweet 16s in four years for him, which ain't too bad.

That UNI-Tennessee regional final may determine who gets the Iowa job.

Why would Bruce Pearl leave Tennessee for Iowa?

Why should they beat the Boilers?

No way would Bruce leave for Iowa ... he wants to leave that in the past. If he goes back, he would be compared to Dr. Tom all the time and would have to hash up the Deon Thomas shit every year with Illinois. I think doing that once in his final game at Milwaukee was enough.

Plus it's not like it's an Indiana-type job with a good tradition. Tennessee is in much better shape and a better place to succeed than Iowa.

Because as both teams are currently constituted AtM is clearly a better team.
