Remember what Moddy said earlier today, let's keep the coaching rumor thread off of this and on the original rumor thread.

Do not provoke Moddy to say it again. :)

Back to UNI -- one thing it has that most mid-majors don't (excepting St. Mary's) is a true big man who can play. It had to freak the shit out of Kansas watching a 7-footer, and not a skinny one, hitting a couple of threes. I don't know how much Jordan Eglseder helped his NBA stock, but I imagine a lot of old-timers got Greg Dreiling flashbacks watching Aldrich.

That was probably the 4th or 5th-best Kansas team of the last 15 years, and I'm not just saying that because they lost today.

I would put the 1997 Pierce-LaFrentz-Vaughn-Pollard team up against this team with confidence. The 2002 team with Gooden-Collison-Hinrich would've beat this team. The 2008 title team would've taken four out of seven against this team. The '98 team could've given them a good run.

The 2010 Jayhawks were good. They weren't historically good, even before this loss.

Cindy was a great VB coach at WAZZU. Got the program's first ever win over Stanford back in 1996, and Stanford was real strong that year. Didn't hurt having players like Sarah Silvernail. I was disappointed when Cindy left, but wanted to see her do well at Iowa. Too bad that didn't work out. I remember her talking about facility needs at Iowa, and then her leaving soon after.

Kudos to UNI on the win.
Only thing that sucked was the CBS coverage. Maybe it was just a West Coast thing, but watching the game at my brother's place (in Portland) CBS stuck with UW destroying NM. Even when less than a minute remained in the UNI-Kansas game, CBS stuck with the UW game which was a 20 point+ blowout. Finally in the final seconds they switched over to UNI. I'm assuming it was due to being on the West Coast, but I'm betting even UW fans would have been fine with watching the UNI game.

Washington is playing pissed off. They're playing for the Pac-10 and it's showing.

Agreed, I was screaming at the TV every goddamn time they said that.

How could they not remember that 06 Missouri Valley uprising. It was just. four. years. ago. when the multiple Mizzou Valley teams shoving it in Billy Packer's face was one of the Tourney biggest side stories.

Google "Hummel" and "ACL" and you shall have your answer.

I remember that there was a short, fat, African-American guy coaching Southern Illinois to a few Sweet 16's -- what happened to him? Did he go somewhere else bigger?

Principle forbade me from even putting the Beakers in the Final Four.. I predicted tOSU would take care of them.

I'm sure it's been said before, but if not..
