I know! I kept doubting my memory, thinking that Bradley lost to Pitt in '06 and Wichita State may have only made it to the second round in '07.

No way. The MVC has done great in the last 10 years. That was way off.

How come nobody has scooped up Lowry? I thought he was a hot commodity - plus he was a minority - so I figured he'd be in a major/BCS/top tier conference by now.

I don't have a dog in the fight with the 'Cuse-Zaga game, but how nuts would it be for another No. 1 to not make the Sweet 16?
A 1, 2 and 3 fell yesterday. No one is safe.

The best part about that was when Kevin Harlan started defending himself rather than admitting he was wrong – he kept saying it, but instead he'd say something about how ISU was the only MVC tourney champ to get to the Sweet 16 in that time.
Something must have smudged on that fact sheet UNI's SID gave him when he did his game prep 40 seconds before tip.

I have to be honest. I don't think I've ever been as nervous for a 'Cuse game than I was today.

I think that Jackson's foul trouble helped the Orange. One, it helped picked up the tempo and two, it messed with the Zags' game plan. Syracuse's defense played the best they could without Arinze, they minimized tourovers and didn't take a ton of bad shots.

Great game overall by the Orange today.

I guess Paul Hewitt has decided to coach for his job again today. Tech leading Buckeyes, 14-6.

Losing Jackson made them quicker, notice how Johnson's scoring went up.
    SU is best in transition.
Rautins picked it way up in the second.
    On to Utah.

    Go Big Red.

I haven't felt this nervous about the outcome of a sporting event in so long. I had forgotten how this feels. I have never experienced Cornell competing legitimately at this level, and if they are in a game, it's kind of like the Kansas game earlier this season where I am watching seconds tick by and it feel like minutes, and I am hoping they can keep it ugly and hold on somehow. Right now, they are playing confidently, though. In the Temple game and so far in this game, they have been really poised, like they feel they should control the game. There is nothing tentative. If they have an inch, they'll fire the shot and they are really hot. I didn't feel like Temple lost it, so much as Cornell won it. And same thing so far in this game. Wisconsin is not playing poorly. Cornell is just unstoppable on the offensive end and outrebounding them on the defensive end.

Is this for real, or do they turn into pumpkins in the second half?

I'd feel better about Cornell if Wisconsin wasn't shooting nearly as well percentage-wise.

I second this, Farmer J. Syracuse really kicked it into gear when Jackson went to the bench, and Gonzaga had no answer.

The Bulldogs did better than many thought this year, but against the two No. 1 seeds on their schedule -- Duke and Syracuse -- they showed there's a long way to go if they want to be a Final Four contender.

They'll have everyone save Bouldin back, assuming Harris sticks around. We'll see -- some NBA draft geeks say he'd be a first-round pick this year. Tough to pass on that kind of cash if you're a 20-year-old.

A team that doesn't give out scholarships is 9:31 away from emphatically reaching the Sweet 16. Now *that's* a Cinderella.

Cornell winning by so much, they switched to another game. Unreal.

I also will be cashing in quite nicely on two money line bets on my boys.
