Cornell has been outstanding in this tournament and was sharp again against Wisconsin.
What a fun team to watch. The lineup has several productive players along with Wittman.
I was not aware of their full prowess, or that of UNIowa, prior to the tourney.
I'd love to see both advance, along with Baylor.
College basketball is so damn competitive these days.
    Go Big Red!

I wish CBS would use a chime or a whoosh or some kind of sounder when they switch games in mid-action.

I didn't mean to imply he was overlooked. Coaches actually knew about him because he was very tall and was trying to get attention, from what I have read. But he simply wasn't very good. He was tall, but uncoordinated, only weighed 170 pounds and wasn't very good at basketball. Donahue knew about him. Even saw a game his HS team played in a tournament in Ithaca. But Donahue wasn't even interested in him, because he wasn't good enough. Donahue didn't show interest until after he had played at St. Bonaventure as a walk on, and then only because he crossed paths with Foote's mom, who was a nurse who was caring for a player from Cornell, and told Donahue about her son and gave him tapes.

A&M gets a loose ball with 1.1 seconds remaining and a tie game.

I can't remember if I ever saw him play in high school. A team that I covered religiously for about four years straight was in the same league, but they realigned the divisions so much I don't know if they played head-to-head in the regular season. Come to think of it, they must have, or else I wouldn't know about the soccer thing.
Anyway, they were going deep into the playoffs in the same class but from what you're saying I'd remember him as uncoordinated white guy.

Is there anything as anticlimactic as the first 2 or 3 minutes of overtime?

Why do I have this bad habit of saying Chris Kramer's name and I keep thinking of this person?

    Sorry, Rex.

Purdue deserves credit for battling through to the Sweet 16 sans Hummel. They'll probably lose big to Duke, but I didn't think they would get out of this weekend.

I don't think Monson did. At least I don't ever remember reading or hearing about it. Sid would have items about the kid in his column from time to time when he was playing at Eden Prairie. Don't remember anything ever mentioning the U.
