Abdul Gaddy starts this year. He averages 18 minutes and scores 4 points; and unlike Gant, he's not a defensive and rebounding specialist.

By the way, many Husky fans feel that Abdul Gaddy shouldn't start this year. But Lorenzo Romar makes those calls, which he is better qualified to do than I.

Enough from me. The board is bored.

What happens when an Ivy League team has a tournament run:

    Hilarity ensues. Great work, Cornell.

If the doubleheader in the Carrier Dome draws 35,000 fans, 30,000 will be pulling for Cornell, and we've seen this a thousand times before, haven't we? The underdog with absolutely no shot leads or is within a bucket or two after 25 minutes and with every minute, more and more of the crowd jumps in with its support. I won't be shocked at all if this is a two-possession game at the last media timeout.

I think you're a little off on your guess. Once it became clear that Kentucky was going to get a No. 1 seed, my guess is that the UK fans went nuts and bought up thousands of tickets to the regional final.

There will still be PLENTY of Cornell fans, particularly if it's a close game, but to think the Kentucky fans will be outnumbered ... I just can't see it happening.

A Huggy Bear-KState final would be entertaining.

Izzo's team always plays down to their opponents. Lucas is done. Chris Allen also has a foot injury. Delvon Roe can barely play after halftime because of a nagging knee injury. That's three of their top-8 players right there.

Healthy, this team could beat anyone, but without their star - Lucas, and other injuries, they lack depth at guard and scoring abilities.

Korie Lucious has been awful all season. Save for yesterday's big shot, he's been terrible trying to fill in for Lucas. Now he's going to be flanked by their only other capable guard - Summers. If either of those guys go cold there is no one to bring in but Kiebler. A defensive specialist who is uncomfortable with the ball.

Down low, they will have Roe as long as his knee allows him to play, Derick Nix and Raymar Morgan. Neither are big enough to outmuscle Eggleseeder. Raymar can likely shut down Koch, but I guarantee he will be in foul trouble the whole game.

For the past four years, it is as Morgan is trying to pickup two fouls as quickly as possible. He missed nearly the entire first half against New Mexico State for early fouls, got back in the game in the second half and picked up a third.

Now if everyone was healthy Morgan plays smart this team is capable of beating anyone. But I don't think they win the way things are right now. They are a damn deep team, but missing a superstar and two role players kills that depth.

Trusting Morgan and Lucious to carry this team is dangerous.

He did get an extension, though the terms escape me. But that doesn't mean anything. He stayed with Mizzou for less than what Georgia was offering. Having seen the facilities in both places, I can understand that. But that doesn't mean that another program with a bit more to offer won't try, either.

For what it's worth: a former UW player who was at the New Mexico game said that his only concern was that Washington might lay an egg, because the UNM team was "not tough" and was "poorly conditioned." He said their tongues were hanging out before the half.

Second hand info, but when I heard it I couldn't help thinking of Alford, and how it didn't speak well of him.

It's one of the reasons I don't have a lot of optimism for the West Virginia game. Should be a fun game to watch, though. I hope the Huskies will do well enough to get Huggins in a snit. I don't care who you are, that's some good entertainment right there.

That sounds like a pretty good description of damn near every team he had at Iowa.

But it's just so much fun watching all the snot-nosed, talking-head
ACC apologists backpedaling for all they're worth.

    Chew on it. Hard.

And how many fingers would you pay to see Cornell beat Organized Crime?
