    At 12-1, Gus Johnson says:
    "Butler on a 7-1 run..."

Butler can rain threes like Mother Fucking Nature's on the team. Are they the perfect matchup for that Syracuse zone?

Until they hit a cold streak, I'd say so.

That's the thing. They hit at an almost 40% rate and are in the top 20 of 3s made per games. The shouldn't be expected to hit a cold streak.

He could have stood there for another 20 seconds and he would have been open by 20 feet.

    Butler, 0 turnovers.
    Syracuse, 10 turnovers.

Live by the three, die by the three.

Ooops, those are just their tournament stats. Butler actually was average in the regular season in shooting and making 3s.

I can't wait to see if the Cornell fans show up in force.

I really don't even know why we're having a discussion about three's right now. Making 3/13 three-pointers has nothing to do with why Butler is winning right now. The fact that Butler's defense is making Syracuse look jittery and unsure of itself has everything to do with why Butler is winning right now.

They were something like 3-of-10 when I posted, with a guy getting fouled on another one. Butler always has a good 3-point-shooting rep, so I thought that might be a bad matchup for Syracuse. Turns out they are just average this season.

Right, whoever put up that turnover stat – there's your answer right there.
