Knight is right, though. Unless you want to pull up hardwood every 5-7 years, don't let shit like this happen. You can only finish and sand the same wood so many times.

With that post, you actually out-grumped Knight. Congrats!

    Give me a break.

You knock off the No. 1 team in the country, you should storm the court. Especially when it's a rival, your team is unranked and hasn't been relevant in years.

Unless you feel some type of symbolism to keeping the same wood, I would agree with Knight. But I don't think keeping the same wood is that big of a deal.

Walking on a basketball court in dress shoes might be the same as leaning on a wall during basketball practice or sitting on or letting your helmet touch the ground during football practice. There are certain traditional things (letting your baseball glove lay flat is another) that some people just don't allow.

Knight's point about storming the court was never about the hardwood, where do you get that? It was always about IU being above such things.

Of course, for many years, that was a perfectly legitimate opinion given his team's were among the top dogs. By the mid 90s, it was just Knight being a grumpy old fuck.

I think it's about accomplishing what you're supposed to accomplish. Winning the game.

  9. I loved Cronin's post-game comments. I hated Cincy's lame suspensions the day after. Six games for punching an opponent? That is pathetic. He should have been suspended the rest of the season, or for a big chunk like the Oregon football player 2-3 years back. Six games is a slap on the wrist especially considering only one of those games is a Big East game.

Cronin and Cincy failed to back up his tough talk.

Holy shit, what has become of Maryland?

I get that it's break, but there might be 1,000 people watching the Terps tonight. Vast swaths of empty seats clearly visible on ESPN.

Turgeon will regret leaving College Station. Or Wichita for that matter.

Putrid schedule of games last night. Your selections included FIU @ Maryland, Cinci @ Wright State, Tennessee @ College of Chas, USC Upstate @ Ohio St, or Eastern Washington @ UCLA.

Eh, this year is going to be rough on Turg, but he will have Maryland consistently in the top 3 or 4 in the ACC and in the NCAA Tournament every year soon enough. Maryland and Virginia should be in good position with very good, relatively young coaches when Roy and K decide to retire.
