Can't wait until USF and SMU tip off in the Garden next year at sunrise Monday. Even the rats won't be in the building for that 8-5 thriller.

Holy smokes is NCAA basketball terrible. There aren't 40 teams that deserve to be in the tournament.

Lamar is one win away from an NCAA tournament berth. I wonder if the selection committee could orchestrate a Pat Knight vs. IU 15 vs. 2 matchup. IU should pound them but man would Crean and the Hoosiers be puckered up.

It is really bad and has been for a number of years.

I don't remember it being this bad, ever.

I mean, I think if Kentucky or North Carolina or even Syracuse were to win the NCAA Title, they'd qualify as legit champions.

The problem is the pool of talent is very shallow -- there just aren't many truly complete teams out there and there are far too many mediocre ones who are going to be in the tournament.

That would be awesome, but IU isn't getting a 2-seed. They're a 4-seed ... at best. And that was with Verdell Jones healthy, which he probably won't be.

Not the first one to use this . . . but worst loss for Poland since '39.

Sidney can barely move. And they can't do it with only two guys.

Do you believe Western Kentucky have a chance to upset a few teams?

And if one of those two fall, that leaves two Final Four slots wide open.

Unless the NBA does not touch players until they are three years past their high school graduation class, or something like that, this trend will continue.

But it also means that Butler, VCU and George Mason in the FF will happen far more often. In fact, it is happening often.

On raw merit, it's a one-bid conference, and despite last night, Washington should get it . . . but, now, you'll get Cal or some other weak sister with a guaranteed slot. Expect two . . . the West is so relatively blank, they'll be shipped in from all over.

Because when you think Big East, you really think of a team from Florida and a team from Texas.

What a mess this whole conference carousel thing is.
