I don't think the ME at the last paper I worked at could write a 100-word brief on a basketball game. But there are a good number of sports writers who can't cover politics or business. Maybe the lesson is news reporters should learn the basics on sports and some sports reporters can learn about news.

Yup. Needs to worry a little more about his team.

As usual, when someone punched them in the mouth, they didn't respond. Roy recruits talent as well as anyone, but has no grit. And UNLV didn't even rough them up, but simply wanted the game more.

    Indiana wallops Butler.

Been receiving a lot of texts informing me that this proves that Tom Crean is a better coach than Brad Stevens.

Virginia 70, No. 15 Michigan 58. That's exactly what I needed after Saturday.

Care to revise this jibberish after North Carolina played against one of the most physical teams in the country in Wisconsin, played at a pace far slower than they'd like and were forced to defend -- and won.

I find it comical that people get all worked up every time Roy Williams teams lose - they are the only team who aren't allowed to have an off night. If they lose they are undisciplined, selfish, finesse, poor defensively, chokers, etc., etc....

Meanwhile, when Duke loses it is because they just happened to lose. Ditto for UConn. Ditto for Syracuse, etc., etc.

Roy Williams has a helluva lot better record than about 99 percent of the coaches out there, his teams play the game the right way, he's doing fine.

UNLV beats UNC with a great effort, then needs double OT to beat...UCSB?!?!?!?

Ugh, confusing team my alma mater.

But, Zag, I think Roy needs to look into your play book and open this team up. If you are deep, you can run, press and trap the other team into submission. Watching the Heels score 26 points in the first half and then play half court D the rest of the way makes me nuts.

Life and death, at home, against a team doddering Roy once said put CBB back forty years.

He can recruit. Aside from that, there are thirty other game coaches I'd rather employ.

Indiana looked very good last night at NC State.

Maybe Dwight Schrute can coach this team after all.

Not really. UCSB is a fine team, and the Runnin' Rebels gave UNC their all for that one but had the typical hangover game. It's a long season.

If ever a college basketball was meant to play in a trapping, pressure defense, its John Henson. You cannot throw the ball over or around him. You sure as hell cannot shoot over him.

    I believe that would be: B1G 8, ACC 4.
