Yep. But I rubberneck at traffic accidents too.

 

Horrible news out of Arlington. A fan fell from the left field stands and died after reaching for baseball tossed to him by Josh Hamilton. Just saw the report on TV here. The fan fell about 20 feet into the space between the outfield wall and the stands.

My gosh, that's terrible.

Prayers for the family. You also have to wonder how Hamilton will deal with it.

 

According to the local news he's not doing well.

 

Just last year a fan fell out of the mezzanine level behind home plate at an Indians at Rangers game. Uncanny that it's happened twice at Arlington in two years.

How many times a night at ballparks around the country does a player toss a ball into the stands?

 

This fan is apparently a firefighter...as was the fan who fell out of the stands last year.

That's spooky.

 

Hmmm..maybe there's something to be said about stadium safety there.

 

In the video that aired here there was a little kid standing next to him. I hope it wasn't his son.

 

Apparently it was. Reports say he was at the game with his son, who is between 6-8 years old. Horrible.

 

Hargis said the man was attending the game with his son, who he speculated was 6 to 8 years old. He added that the man told him he was a Brownwood firefighter.
