Very excited to see Mike Trout. Bryce Harper gets all the hype, but Trout was arguably the best prospect in the minor leagues.

MLB was thinking lawsuit. The Rangers' broadcast didn't show what the A's did either. Probably for the same reason. They're self-promoting.

    I'm sure Trout's ultra-talented ... but you'd better see Harper. :)

I've spoken with people with a better eye for talent than mine who have seen both and more than one has told me that Trout is more of a sure thing than Harper. Different type of player, though. Incredibly fast with some pop.

You're right that all that horseshit talk went away pretty quickly.

But this sheriff is clearly grandstanding.

I believe Keith Law has him as his top ranked prospect ahead of Harper

Law really enjoys being a contrarian.

Law has a few axes to grind.

    Harper's gone 5-for-14 since arriving here -- two multi-hit games, two 0-for-4s.

He's gunned down two guys from left field -- a new position for him after playing right in Hagerstown.

A good team that already had prospects in P Brad Peacock, 1B Tyler Moore and C Derek Norris is 4-0 with Harper batting sixth. Could be a fun second half on the island.

BTW, Chien-Ming Wang stopped in for a rehab start last night, threw five innings of a two-hit combined shutout. Word from insiders at the park said he was filthy good.

Let's remember that Law's rankings were compiled in January.

At that point, Harper had not played an inning of professional baseball (unless you have count the Arizona Fall League). He was also moving to a new position.

I don't have a problem with him ranking Trout No. 1. Trout had dominated the low minors for two years.

Jeter will have to wait until tomorrow to go for history. Game washed away in the Bronx
