Finally saw the Ortiz highlights. Was he waiting for a written invitation to actually throw a punch?

The Rays don't give a shit about Jeter or the milestone, not after he faked the HBP in the midst of a pennant race last season.

From your keyboard to Gods monitor Hank. There are greater tragedies in the world than Jeter not getting no 3000 in the Bronx.

Josh Hamilton is having a bad week. He drilled a fan with a foul ball during one of his at-bats tonight.

Yeah, I saw that in the roundup. Kid was ok. Bleeding, but ok.

Damn nice feel-good win for Pittsburgh tonight. Three-run homer in the eighth by a catcher who would probably be a backup for the Altoona Curve if they hadn't gone through six catchers already. Hit it off Marmol, too.

And then Hanrahan goes out there and blows the Cubs' doors off in the 9th. PNC was going apeshit.

Great story in Pittsburgh. Great for baseball.

Actually, McKenry probably wouldn't even be in the organization if not for the injuries. The Pirates acquired him from the Red Sox last month when the injuries hit.

Been a long time since a Pittsburgh baseball crowd has had reason to go apeshit. I'm impressed that they remember how.

I was just thinking. Papi's obviously going to be facing a suspension. Would they actually bar him from the All-Star Game (and, by connection, the Home Run Derby)?

Just waiting for the Rays to meet the fans who paid big bucks to a scalper for Friday's game ...

Hey Yankees...you can take Derek Jeter and his 3,000 hits and shove 'em straight up your ass! - Tanner Boyle, SS, Tampa Bay Rays

Would be great to see some neat, phony intentional walks as the weekend goes on.
