Not looking for a fight at all. Just making an observation.

The only pettiness I see right now is coming from you, wasting your time slamming the Rays instead of enjoying Jeter's milestone.

The Rays did what was in their team's best interest. The Yankees had a choice to either lose the gate or take a chance on Jeter not getting 3,000 at home. They chose to protect the money. Jeter bailed them out. That simple.

Jeter just knocked a double to left.

    He's a triple away from a cycle.

Yep, the only pettiness is from YankeeFan, especially complaining AFTER the hit occured. Very, very weak, YF. Very weak.

See, oop, we do agree on things sometimes. :D

I hope none of the Rays show their pettiness by making a diving outfield catch the next time he's up.

Ok Elias, how many players have hit their 2,999th, 3,000th and 3,001st hit in consecutive plate appearances?

Michael Kay, still an idiot. Has anyone ever hit for the cycle in their 3,000-hit game? Gee, I don't know. Oh wait, Boggs didn't, so obviously not.

Thanks for struggling to what the rest of us figured out in about two seconds.

Apparently the guy that caught the ball is being interviewed on the Yankee radio and TV broadcasts. Is giving the ball to Jeter. Just wants to meet him.

    What a fucking moron.

Kay said the Yankees also hooked him up with a suite for the rest of the season, front row tickets for tomorrow's game, and other assorted trinkets (many of which are available now on Yankees.com!).
The guy didn't get money, but he's hardly going home empty-handed.

OK, perhaps not as big a fucking moron as I originally thought.

    Perhaps.

No, still a moron. Never settle for the original offer

I know that morbid greed is a big selling point these days, but doggone it, I think I'll choose just to applaud the guy who's above holding the ball hostage.

Still, the guy who put the * on the ball Bonds hit should be in the Hall of Fame
