Andrew McCutchen is playing Tuesday night. A wrong made right.

And Josh Hamilton caps a wild three-day affair with a walk-off shot to give the Rangers a 7-6 win after blowing a 5-1 lead.

Favre had that huge game against Oakland on MNF the day after his dad died.

no solace to the late fan's family, obviously, but good for hamilton, whose name unfortunately will remain attached to this tragedy.

I used to like it, but now it's the type of shit that Suzyn Waldman gives you for 9 innings and I've learned to hate it.

I agree no solace but you can bet Josh will be heavily involved with this family for the rest of his life. At least, that's the kind of vibe I get from the type of person he is now. Could be totally wrong.

Michael Kay ruined the last few innings of that game yesterday. And it wasn't like the outcome had been settled.

I don't know why these fucks can't just let something happen and wash out on its own. They force everything and every sentiment.

More umpire adventure to curl Eric Wedge's mustache as Seattle visited Anaheim this weekend.

Last night, Angels have a man on first, he runs and is thrown out at second as Hank Conger clearly swings at strike three.

Oh wait ... it's called a check swing. Runner is safe because it's a walk. Instead of two out, there's two on, no one out.

Wedge beefs from the dugout, is tossed, then goes on the field and goes ape shit. Angels go on to score four runs in the inning.

Fast forward to Sunday. Felix facing Bobby Abreu. Four pitches thrown -- the second one called a strike -- and Abreu gets a three-pitch walk. Although he didn't score, it's the second three-ball walk against the Mariners in the past week or so.

Not a banner season for MLB umpires

Was just in the car and NPR included this story in their news at the top of the hour.

MLB to NPR: You only cover us when we issue two, three ball walks in nine days.

Took my wife and father-in-law to see the Nats today. A couple of things:

*Jordan Zimmermann is really fucking good. Really fucking good. When Jee-SUS returns next year, well, maybe, just maybe this team will have a shot.

*Laynce Nix is the Nats' cleanup hitter. Werth, Zimmerman and LaRoche have done basically nothing all year. Yet this team is .500 at the break - and Laynce Nix is the cleanup hitter.

*Danny Espinosa is pretty damn good, too. He is NL rookie of the half year, right? I've had to supress my FanBoyNess given my new job but I realize it is still there. This isn't just me is it?

*I may get a hit before Jayson Werth gets another.
