To illustrate your point, the AL East has had the wild card 12 of 16 times overall and 7 of the last 8. Only recent exception was 2006, when Minnesota won the AL Central and Detroit was the wild card.

Hilarious play by Victor Martinez as he slid safely into home. It'll be on the highlights tonight.

Bryce Harper's having a slow adjustment to AA. He's hitting .171 after tonight, and is 1 for his last 25.

Did he blow a kiss to the pitcher after that one hit?

Anyone catch the bottom of the ninth inning in Minnesota's 2-1 victory over Cleveland?

Emergency fill-in left fielder Luis Valbuena essentially was playing on the warning track, which allowed a softly hit single to become a double, putting runners at second and third. Danny Valencia then hit a mid-range bloop single to drive in the tying and winning runs against Indians closer Chris Perez.

Cameras on the Indians' dugout caught Perez firing his glove against the dugout wall. Another shot had one of the Cabreras shouting at Valbuena.

And yet, nothing in the AP gamer about where Valbuena was positioned on both critical hits. Even the Indians-oriented write-thru didn't mention it.

If that were my kid, I'd spank him before I'd let him have the ball ... KIDDING!
