San Diego leads Florida 10-0 with one out in the 2nd. Ricky Nolasco gave up nine hits (only one home run) and nine earned runs before being yanked. His ERA jumped from 3.51 to 4.08.

    Ouch.

The Brandon Inge Era in Detroit (he's been there since 2001, and might be the last regular from the 2003 team that lost 120 games) appears over. He's owed $11-plus million for this year and next, but was hitting .171 with one homer.

Tigers traded two minor leaguers for Wilson Betemit today. Don Kelly in the lineup at third.

Not completely defending Inge, but he did have surgery on his knees last year, then had mono earlier this year.

Really only gave up two middle of the road prospects (one was at Low-A West Michigan, other at High-A Lakeland).

Watching Phils and Cubs on another 98-degree day, and it baffles me why some kind of techology is not utilized to keep the players cool on the field ... such as a light, cooling neck ring or something like that. Just something the trainer can refresh when needed throughout the game.

Doesn't that make sense, rather than letting Halladay nearly get heat stroke on Monday night?

Stephen Drew breaks his leg. Be warned. This one is very ugly.

Indeed it was. White Sox fans have accosted so many people over the years, it's hard to keep track. Or I'm an idiot. Or both.

The trade created some interesting happenings last night. KC is using a six-man rotation because apparently Kyle Davies has photos of Dayton Moore and David Glass in bed. They only had one sub availabile -- Mitch Maier -- who was already in the game after Melky Cabrera felt ill. They recalled Mike Aviles, who wasn't there because he was apparently walking from (and not in) Memphis.

So Billy Butler reaches base on a wild pitch after striking out to lead off the 10th. There was no one left to run. Ultimatley it didn't matter because the Royals choked, as per usual. Word on the radio postgame was that they wanted Davies to run, but the dumbfuck couldn't find his spikes in time.

Luckily AJ Pierzynski sucks at life, and allowed the game winner to score after he failed to block a pitch.

It's a getaway Thursday in MLB. Five of the eight games on the schedule are day games.

Both the Yankees & Rays are traveling after their game in St. Pete. So, are they playing a day game?

Nope. Can't put the 22,000 gate in jeopardy. School's out and it's 100 degrees, but they won't play a day game. Fuckers.

And, they haven't drawn over 23,000 in any of their first three games of this series.

YF's rants/hatred on the Rays is getting pretty close to pathetic.

Dude, let it go. I'm sure every single one of the actual Yankees has.

And to finish the story, Inge was DFAed today. Providing he clears waivers, they plan to send him to AAA Toledo, which he has accepted.

Can't remember too many 10-year veterans willing accepting a demotion to AAA.
