Rasmus's little brother has been tearing it up on the Twitter for two days, Superfudge-style.

    That's Cyle, with a "C."

Beltran not in lineup for Mets tonight amid speculation deal to Giants imminent. As part of deal, Mets would get Giants No. 1 pick in 2009, pitcher Zack Wheeler, currently at Single-A San Jose but projected to make bigs by 2013. Also hearing Giants are picking up Beltran's salary.

But maybe he missed the tag.

Joyce/Galaragga might be close to the Denkinger call. It was regular season, but it took away a perfect game, which is rare.

True, but at least it didn't decide the game.

It's karmic payback for Eric Gregg circa 1997.

Wait ... there's people comparing a call in Game 6 of a possible World Series clincher to a game on July 26 that might ultimately mean nothing in the final balance?

    Yikes.

What I think this is all about is pennant race virginity. I went through it in '07, when the Brewers were in real contention for the first time in 15 years, led for most of the season, until they blew it late. I lived and died with every call, every game. It was agonizing as much as it was fun because you wanted so badly for that playoff bid to happen. You have no perspective at all.

Pirates fans are going through the same thing this year. Which is really cool, so I totally get why they're flying off the handle on this. But its one game out of 162 in a race where no one is going to pull away.

Especially not the Brewers, since its possible Rickie Weeks might be done for the season after hurting his ankle tonight. (FUCK!)

Your key word is "might." With a win, Pittsburgh is 1/2 game out of first in the NL Central; instead they're 1 1/2 out. We'll see what the final standings are. Likewise, if Arizona finishes a game behind Atlanta in the wild card, that July 26 result will loom large.

You should see her when she watches the Steelers.

Looks like Kosuke Fukudome is headed to Cleveland for a couple of prospects.

C'mon. If we're going to play that game, than any Pirates reliever who blew a ninth-inning or extra-inning lead, any Pirate who didn't deliver with runners in scoring position in the ninth in a one-run game, etc., are all just as responsible as the umpire was in that particular game.

But, you know, that would be too inconvenient in the rush to "kill the umpire!"
