They were doing it when I moved there in 2000.

I'm guessing it's older than that though.

Pretty much the whole place sings along too.

They just showed this clip on Morning Joe:

    http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=17566461

Some kid who won a contest got to call an inning of the Mets game on SNY and Jose Reyes hits a home run.

The kid's call is better than 90% of MLB announcers. No signature call. A little bit of excitement and he got the facts right.

Johne Sterling, Michale Kay, and a lot of other announcers should be forced to listen.

They do it at Rangers games, too. In fact, my one big complaint with the new Rangers' ownership regime is that they've changed the "Deep in the Heart of Texas" (DITHOT) routine. Prior to this year, they always played a traditional version of DITHOT done by Moe Bandy. Now, they only play that version occasionally. The rest of the time, it's a lame-o version done on the organ. They've made other aesthetic changes that are off-putting, but none so much as this.

Didn't Hamilton pushed Gene Elston out as the Astros' pbp guy?

Agreed, and agreed. Those fuckers would be easy hate even if I wasn't born on God's half of Missouri. And it's not the first time this year they've been severely oversensitive about Pujols. Apparently you're just supposed to walk the great man if you don't intend to pitch him in-game batting practice.

Molina was totally out of line and deserves 10 games or however many.

Let's not act like his spitting was the same as that of Robbie Alomar. He had spittle flying out of his mouth while he was jawing at the ump. Period.

Alomar wound up and cut loose a loogie.

Dan Uggla has raised his batting average 37 points since June 29. He's now doing exactly what the Braves got him for, and it appears they're going to waste it.

Well, those guys up in Philadelphia are going to have something to do with that, too.

Forget Philadelphia. That race is over.

Waste it how? As long as they get in the playoffs, they've got as good a chance as anyone.
