Is LaRussa the biggest whiner ever? Complains about LaTroy Hawkins quick-pitching (or whatever it's called now), so Hawkins does it about six or seven more times.

They also filed a complaint with MLB about the ribbon lighting boards at Miller Park, saying they were intentionally brighter when the Brewers were batting.

Apropos of nothing: Sometime on Monday, I think, Al Hrbosky (sic) said on the Cardinals broadcast that Whitey Herzog, when he managed the Rangers, thought Bernie Brewer was stealing signs by clapping a certain number of times for a fastball, a different number for a breaking ball, etc.

One thing about the Cardinals: they've been chock full of bullshit excuses since 1985, at least.

That play was fucking awesome. Thanks for the link.

Similar to the play Johnny Damon made in the '09 WS:

    That was very impressive.

A little disappointed to read that Ryan was angling for two stolen bases on the play after the game. Don't be a stats-watcher, kid.

Yes he is, dating back to when he was managing Oakland. Player managed by LaRussa does something, good. Player on team opposing LaRussa-managed team does same thing, bad.

The 'We Are All Kipnises' t-shirts are being printed in Cleveland as we speak. Rookie 2B has homered in four straight games.

Don't forget the 2009 playoffs, when Matt Holliday let a fly ball hit him in the nuts and then bitched about the Dodgers having an unfair advantage because their fans were allowed to wave white towels.

Rafael Furcal hit his first home run since May today. Coincidence?

AJ Burnett doing his best to blow a 13-1 lead.

It's now 13-6 headed to the 5th. I have a feeling 13 might not hold up.
