I'm afraid Victorino might be in for a suspension. He was muscling his way past the umpire, grabbing his shirt and manhandling him, while trying to make his way back toward the scrum.
Looked like there was some action in the pile, too. Some folks kicking, and I thought I saw Hunter Pence sucker punch somebody. Lots of easter eggs for the boys in the disciplinary office to find on that tape.

And I wonder WTF is he thinking? The last thing the Giants want are more baserunners. Is Victorino's ego that damaged over being hit in the ass?

Victorino nearly charged during an NLDS game three years ago.

    Suspend him.

It's funny, guys. The one thing I got out of Victorino's first steps toward the mound is that he really didn't want any part of a brawl. He was moving so slow and was quick to let the umpire hold him back.

I mean, I actually felt like he was pussing out on getting into it.

The one thing I DO know is that was a purpose pitch. Ramirez didn't care right then if Victorino would have gotten three bases on an HBP.

You can say he wasn't head-hunting. But he was definitely ass-hunting.

Damn. This sounds like it could have been a lot worse. Rockies' pitcher Juan Nicasio needed surgery to "stabilize a fracture" in his neck after being hit by a line drive Friday night.

The noise that line drive made was sickening. Here's hoping it's nothing overly serious.

I got that sense too. Looked like he took those first couple steps without thinking, then said to himself, "What the hell am I doing?"
Then Eli Whiteside started jumping around like a coked up baboon and overreacted to Polanco coming over from first, and it was game on.
And speaking of pussing out, what does the rest of the game say about the Giants? They folded up like an origami napkin after that. I know Bochy took out Beltran and made a bunch of substitutions, probably to help settle things down, but you could just tell there was absolutely no fire in them after that. The last three innings of that game was like watching spring training.

Really doesn't matter who the Giants have out there, still can't hit. Exhibit A, today's game. That they've stayed in first this long without Posey is a tribute to Bochy's managing with spitwads and chicken wire, mirrors, a weak NL West and good pitching.

Isn't that how they made the playoffs last year?

No, last year it was spitwads, chiken wire, a weak NL West, good pitching and Buster Posey (sigh).[/fanboi]

Meanwhile, Tony Bruno adds gasoline to the fire:

Medical staff say they don't know what the future holds, mostly because they don't think this type of injury has ever happened before to a player. But he has youth on his side.

Future is/was bright: 4-0 with a 1.58 ERA at Coors. Pretty good.
