Giants hit two more solo home runs tonight. They haven't hit a home run with a man on base since July 6.

Random, I know, butI want to start a fan club for Tigers reliever Phil Coke and call ourselves the Cokeheads.

    The Giants scored? It's a miracle ...

Seriously? Jeeez. That's a long time.

Nats hit two last night and Wang looked like Wang. Encouraging. Morse hit No. 20 and the radio guys said it went 450 feet. Morse is the living example of the blind squirrel theory. Nats went out and spent $16 mil on LaRoche when they had a much cheaper answer right under their noses. Will they just sack up and eat the second year on LaRoche and leave Morse alone? They have the makings of a pretty decent infield/catcher situation with Ramos, Morse, Espinosa, Desmond and Zimmerman. Though I'd be fine if they moved Desmond.

They've made the step from awful to mediocre - will Strasburg and Harper help them make another step?

Now if Espinosa would remember how to hit. Looks like major-league pitchers have figured him out, at least for now. He has been pretty awful for about a month now. The power, speed and defense are there. Now we see if he can make adjustments at the big-league level.

The revolucion continues with the anticipated call up of catcher Salvador Perez...

The difference between this youth movement and the 18 other youth movements since 2000 is that the Royals are actually getting younger. A handful of rookies in the pen, starting pitcher Danny Duffy, 1B Eric Hosmer, 2B Johnny Giovatella, 3B Mike Moustakas and now Perez.

Now, if they'd only give Kyle Davies a one-way ticket to Georgia..

Interesting story in The Mag about those who believe my Jays are stealing sings at Centre Rogers. (Joe Girardi must have contributed to this.)

From Elias: The Phillies are now 40-15 in games that Roy Halladay has started. They've won more than 70 percent of his starts and broken a record that has stood for more than 100 years.

The Phillies' .727 win percentage behind Halladay is the best team win percentage in a pitcher's starts among those who debuted since 1900 (min. 50 starts).

One of the reasons I love baseball is because of stories like this... and backing it up with relevant math gives the accusations some weight. Who needs PED's when you know what's coming?

I'd be interested to know how many of those Toronto home runs have come with or without a man on second... assuming that teams don't use multiple signs with runners on first or third.

But these days there has to be some video proof, right? Even if you can't get the shot from the batter's POV, a guy dressed in white smack in the middle of the batter's eye would attract some attention, no?

Interesting but I am still skeptical. How many players have come and gone through Toronto yet nothing has leaked about this? Also, how hard would this be to be investigated? There are cameras everywhere, would MLB not be able to pick up a guy dressed in white signalling Toronto hitters?

Not just with Halladay, but it's now reached the point where I'm honestly surprised when the Phillies find themselves behind, regardless of the pitching matchup.
