I wouldn't bet on the attendance numb ers being too accurate.

On the positive side, it's nice to see 4,000-per-game gains in Cleveland and Pittsburgh correspond with a return to respectability by those teams.

Of course, Arizona's rolling into the playoffs and they're still struggling to draw 20,000 for some home games.

And right now, A.J. Burnett is getting clubbed again, against a lineup in which half the players were on the field less than 10 hours ago.

Looks like a spring training box score for the Yanks.

That was the biggest shock to me -- that a 97-loss team would draw more fans than the division winner a year later.

Which means MLB pretty much fucked last night's fans, and today's as well.

A day game after a night game would have a couple of regulars out of the lineup, but this is not normal by any means.

Verlander notches his 22nd win, but the Tigers were actually losing 4-2 when Victor Martinez hit a grand slam in the 7th inning. Cy Young seems to be straight in his grasp.

Five errors in the Yanks-O's game so far. Crisp affair between two highly motivated clubs full of piss and vinegar this afternoon.

Perfect game through five for Oakland's Guillermo Moscoso.

He wouldn't be the most nondescript Oakland pitcher to throw a no-hitter, as Mike Warren did it in Sept. 1983.

Absolutely nothing of note going on in Oakland. The Royals aren't getting no-hit by some no-name fuck. Nope, not at all.
