    I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but MLB stands to lose a lot of money if the Rays sneak into the playoffs.

    However, it would be hilarious if it happened.

    Since when do you hate being a conspiracy theorist? :)

    But seriously, yes, it would be funny.

    Red Sox lose again today. Remember when people were talking about this team winning 100+ games? Might not even make it to 90.

    I can't think of a bigger choke job.

    Boston is not in good shape. There's nowhere they can go for help. Their bullpen is already gassed.

    The pitching is horrid for a serious contender.

    Yes it is. They have four MVP candidate hitters but will probably miss the playoffs.

    Who do you think is the strongest team for the postseason? I have to say Detroit. They might end up with the best record in the league.

    I think Texas is incredibly well-balanced. But even they're starting to have a bit of a hiccup near the end.

    The AL playoff field is pretty level.

    I think it comes down to pitching and I'm not sure what to expect from Sabathia. Outside of 2009 he's stunk in the playoffs. If their pitching fails them again in the playoffs the Yankees need to pursue some top pitchers. When are Jered Weaver and Justin Verlander free agents?

    What about Lincecum? He would look good in pinstripe.

    1) Giants control him for at least one more year (maybe more, but I will free up bandwidth for those with better knowledge);
    2) pinstripes;
    3) He'd have to cut his hair as soon as the ink was dry on his contract' and
    4) Jetes is looking a little lonely over there, isn't it your night to comfort him?

    Then they should probably wait until he reaches free agency.

    For Yankee Money he will cut his hair. Giambi did it.

    History has shown the best way to win a champion ship is to have a good team fronted by two dominant starters. The Yankees need to find a modern Schilling/Bigunit duo to lead their rotation. A tandem of Lincecum/Verlander/Sabathia would be unstoppable in October.
