I feel asleep because I'm old.
Got a one-word text from My Son the Braves Fan just before midnight that told me everything I needed to know.
    The text said, "FUCK."

The Braves being out leaves me with no rooting interest in the playoffs. I'll adjust on the fly and hope for a Rays-Dbacks Series. AL Manager of the Year vs. NL Manager of the Year.

And I still don't get why people call the Boston team the Sawx. Well, I do. But I still don't understand why you'd do that. Guess it doesn't matter now, eh Red SOX nation? Enjoy the winter.

And my new slogan for 2012: Jee-SUS wins, Storen saves

First time in maybe, well, ever the Nats Nation has some legitimate hope going into the offseason. I expect all kinds of calamaties between now and then to derail this train.

The number of mentions of Loopy's latest tome in the past hour on Dennis & Callahan sailed over the total . . . easy winner.

I can't wait to see Doris Kerns Goodwin cry during Inning 11 of the Ken Burns "Baseball" documentary.

I'm already loving all the reactions to last night.

Baseball is the fucking best, and for the first time in a long time, they reminded everybody of this.

Our vacationing friend is probably wandering around somewhere looking for a Cubs fan to commiserate with because, you know, the histories are just so similar.

I need to call and check on my son.

On "Mike & Mike" this morning they mentioned that Red Sox fans are pissed at the way the Orioles celebrated.

    Boo fucking hoo.

The Twins, with 99 losses, celebrated a walk-off win, too.

I do look forward to the next ESPN Cubs documentary in a few years that makes heavy use of the Red Sox 2011 collapse.

Uh, oh, I hope Moddy didn't see that post!

Why wouldn't the Orioles celebrate? I thought that was great.

They played their asses off. They played like their season was on the line.

    Good for them.

Because Red Sox fans are big crybabies.

. . . while assembly-line-producing books, and licking the boots of LBJ.

Just read Caro's Master of the Senate. Hated LBJ, before. Hate him even more, now, and didn't
    think that was possible.

    Back to your regularly-scheduled . . .
