The Phillies are too streaky offensively. They had Carpenter on the ropes in the first two innings, then the offense disappeared.

That was some pretty lousy baseball being played tonight.

You saw La Russa managing the shit out of that inning a mile away.

David Wells just said that the Tigers "stuck it up their keisters."

I love La Russa, but that habit of making repeated trips to the mound is annoying. I'd like to know how many games he's lost over the years because he micro-managed the pitchers.

As for today's Brewers game, that sixth inning was sure interesting. Bringing in Ziegler with his screwy sidearm delivery and watching him implode? Priceless for Milwaukee fans.

He used four relievers in the space of 13 pitches.

The remarkable thing about that inning was that the explosion started with a squeeze play, the ultimate scratch-and-claw let's-just-get-one manufactured run, but then the dam just collapsed and it was a run parade.

I think commentators confuse action for productivity. Whenever I think of La Russa, I think of Wallace Shawn from The Princess Bride.

Cliff Lee has that crud on the back of his cap again. Surprised the genius hasn't asked for this to be checked, with how tedious they have become.

Wonder what Supergenius Scioscia thought of Napoli's defense on that go-ahead two-run homer.

The Napoli/Wells trade pretty much got the GM fired.

Scioscia's fixation of his pet Jeffy Mathis - to the exclusion of Napoli - may get him fired.

By coincidence, here's an interesting tweet from Jon Heyman:

Could someone on the Rays coaching staff lock JP Howell in a closet so Maddon stops using him?
