the emotions are higher in a playoff game. some guys relax and get the job done, some don't.

Prove it. Even more specifically, prove that Alex Rodriguez doesn't. Look at his entire playoff body of work and say with a straight face that he somehow feels so much pressure he can't perform.

i'll prove he strikes out at a higher rate in the postseason (by a lot) than he does in the regular season.

In the ninth when Arod batting, did it look like Jeter put his hand to his mouth and whispered to the guy next to him, game over?

Maybe it just seemed like it.

    A-Rod playoffs: .282/.389/.506, 1.66 K/BB
    A-Rod regular season: .308/.386/.567, 1.64 K/BB

    You lose.

i posted right before the at-bat that Giarardi should've told ARod to let it hit him, but i didn't check his VORP or WAR. but he ended up striking out and not coming close to making contact.

18.0% of his PAs in the regular season.
21.5% of his PAS in the postseason(including tonight).

It's bad enough that you people believe this ish. It's just stupid that you won't bother to spend three seconds looking it up before you state it as a fact.

The pressure is getting to him sooo badly, that once every 33 at-bats, he has an extra strikeout.

The fail whale has appeared on Twitter. I wonder if A-Rod has anything to do with this.

And if by some magical coincidence, the ratio of chokes:successes looks a lot like the ratio of failures:successes he has in the regular season.

I'm thinking his hitting poorly this postseason has more to do with the fact he hasn't hit well all year than he choked.
