he was a 1st class knucklehead in DC with the Nats. I don't know if he's a bad guy, but he sure seems like a dumb-ass tool.

I think B is probably correct. I truly don't think he is a bad guy. Brewers love him now. His act will eventually wear thin. He does have some ability.

Cardinals did a great job of taking pitches and prolonging at-bats in the first. Halladay threw 33 pitches. Now he's working much more efficiently.

Another big home playoff game where the Phillies can't get the ball out of the infield.

Baseball needs to get rid of 5 game series. What an absolute joke to be the best team over 162 games, as the Phillies clearly were, and possibly get eliminated 3-2.

A best-of-7 isn't much better. And if you add two games to the first round, you're almost guaranteed that the World Series goes into November even if it is a sweep. That's not good either.

The Phillies still can't hit. Other than the first inning, Halladay has been as good as could have been expected. And it may not be enough.

This game could go 30 innings and I don't think Philadelphia could score.
PS: The solution to the playoffs is to create four divisions in the two leagues and abolish the wild card. But that will never happen. Since the Red Sox failed to make the playoffs two years in a row, they will be expanded.
Hey, speaking as a Phillies fan, inability to score has been their problem all year. If that's how they go down, it's disappointing, but hardly shocking.

Seven at least lets you get back to second and third starters for a second time. Need to add a few double headers in the regular season and start the playoffs a week earlier. Not good for baseball to get teams to the World Series that everyone knows aren't really the best teams.

The doubleheaders won't happen. The players association won't go for it and the owners won't like it either because they'd either have a diminished gate (thanks to the day portion of day-night twinbills) or lose gates completely.

Given how poorly Ryan Howard is swinging the bat, why give him the green light on a 3-0 pitch?
