    Eat it, East Coast.

Gotta say, pretty damn good first round for MLB. Good thing these deciding games are on Thursday and Friday and not Saturday and Sunday when no one would be paying attention.

Maybe the Phillies should have let the Braves win Game 162 and knock out the Cardinals. They've been a bad matchup for the Phillies all year and they were again in this series.

Halladay was great. Chris Carpenter was even better. And the Phillies' lineup proved to be the team's undoing. Great starting pitching can only take you so far.

Great game by Carpenter. Cardinals deserve their win, even La Russa. Shitty end to a fine season for us Phils fans, but there's not much to say about being shut out.
PS: Mr. Sluggo, are you for real? If so, seek help.

I like that ... The Cards waiting for Carpenter to spray champagne.

Why is that, for rooting for the Phillies? Mr. Sluggo please take your medication.

Exactly. Because everyone on Twitter is a doctor and is tending to Howard and knows what the hell is going on.
    It happened

It's funny, I noticed that too. It kind of highlights how much respect the Cardinals had for Carpenter's outstanding performance (I don't think it said anything bad about Nyjer, I'd say the Cardinals were the exception to the rule by waiting).

Amazing that was just the second 1-0 deciding game in postseason history. After the Brewers game, I was a little less excited about this one. I thought, "No way Doc and Carpenter will live up to the billing now."
