    Congratulations Texas.

Know this, while you are celebrating, that if New York had gotten past Detroit, we'd be looking ahead to a Yankees-Cardinals matchup in the World Series. NY owned Texas in the regular season.

But they didn't so it's completely fucking irrelevant.

The way to solve this is to institute a round-robin playoff tournament. It's not fair one of the best teams in history gets bounced from the playoffs in a 5-game series in the first round.

Manky, we've been over this. Take your foolishness back to the Jeter thread where it belongs. There is no way anybody could logically argue that the 2011 Yankees were anything special at all, much less one of the best teams in history.

If you want to take this over to that thread, I'm OK with that. I realize the Yankees stank in the playoffs, but any team can look bad in a 5-game snapshot. A 7-game series is better, you'll still get some upsets but the best team will usually win.

The Yankees won 98 games while playing in the same division as Boston (played .700 ball for a 4-month stretch) and the Rays who also won 90+ games. Not to mention Toronto, who was good enough to win some of the weaker divisions and the Orioles who were tough. Put NY in an average division like the AL Central or West and they win 110 games.

I'm sorry if some people don't like me speaking the truth. If I'm a Rangers fan I'm relieved they didn't have to play New York.

Great teams don't piss down their leg in the LDS.

If you ever spoke the truth, that would be fine. But you don't. Ever. You are either a 13-year-old fanboy who should have his computer taken away by his mommy or you are troll playing a game to get a rise out of people. I ceased caring which it is long ago, but you need to keep it off the legitimate threads.

The Yankees were a flawed team and it showed at playoff time. Get over it already.

It's legitimate to ask whether the Rangers were actually the best team in the AL this year. We already know the best team in the NL will not be in the World Series.

The Rangers have become a model organization within the shortest time in baseball history, in my lifetime.

(and I have done much time in Dallas)
