The 2002 Giants feel your pain

  4. 1991 WS between Twins and Braves is the best in my book (and I'm a Braves fan), but this one is right there in terms of twists and turns and overall drama. Great stuff.

Someone needs to do a story on the record in Game 7s after Game 6s are decided in heartbreaking fashion - I realize heartbreaking is not an official stat. How often does the team who loses like the Rangers lost tonight come back and win the 7th game? Reds won in '75, Cards got bombed in '85. Braves lost in '91. Astros won in 2005, etc.

Sox lost in 86. Yankees lost in 01, and Game 6 might still be considered heartbreaking since they lost 15-2 with Pettitte on the mound.

Great game, and I don't really have a rooting interest. Glad we had it on tonight. I also found myself thankful I work at a Pacific Time Zone paper.

I liked how Freese, even after all the late-inning dramatics, was still pissed about dropping the pop up.

Guess he can laugh about it now.

My sentiments exactly. The Rangers have found, and fucked madly, the ghost of the 1986 Red Sox.

Not to laugh at your misery, but that's a pretty fucking funny way to put it.

Can't be a coincidence that two of the people responsible for the Sox' coughing it up 25 years and two days ago were Texas grads, can it? Clemens begs out w/a blister and then Schiraldi pisses down his leg.

Man, I'm still buzzing this morning after that.

People often talk about greatest home runs ever. I'm wondering if Freese hit the greatest triple ever? I still think Cruz should have caught the ball. Looks like he misplayed it, but perhaps someone saw something I didn't and it was a tougher play than it looked from where I sat.
