Just told my 2-year-old that, "Tonight is the last baseball game of the year."

    He started to cry!

Guess we'll be watching some highlights to get us through the winter. Lots of MLB Network. For the sake of being a good dad, of course.

Hasn't Washington been taking him out for defensive reasons late in games?

The other thing I haven't seen mentioned here is Washington letting Lewis bat with the bases loaded in a tie game in the fifth. And it's not like he was throwing a shutout. Sure, the Rangers ended up going up big a few innings later, but can't see how you don't go for the kill right at that spot.

And the happiest man in St. Louis has to be Holliday. After whiffing on a fly ball that hit him in the twig and berries that led to their playoff elimination last time in LA, he was on the verge of being permanently labelled one of the biggest postseason chokers in all of sports history.

In his defense, the Cardinals are also on the brink of losing the World Series. #GAME7RULES

And trying to figure out what the Cardinals could do tonight that could be more unbelievable than the events of the last two months for this team. Probably nothing short of a Carpenter perfect game.

When my co-workers here in STL heard today that Holliday will not start tonight, we applauded. He's already earned that rep in this city.

Am I allowed to bump the controversial Chris Carpenter Hall of Fame thread if that happens? ;)

MLBTV just reported: Both Napoli and Cruz in the lineup for Game 7

No. Cruz has a great arm and plays a good right field. Washington will sometimes sub out Murphy for Craig Gentry, then shift Hamilton to left field and let Gentry play center.

As for firing Washington if the Rangers lose, it's not that outlandish. It's no secret Ryan has never been a fan. If the Rangers come a strike away from winning the World Series--twice--and Washington's Girardi-esque managerial acumen costs them the title, I wouldn't be shocked if Ryan canned his ass. Maybe then he could finally take a shit.
