Where does this WS rank for everyone so far?

From the ones I really remember, right now I'd go:

    (1) 2001
    (2) 1991
    (3) 1986
    (4) 2011
    (5) 1997
    (6) 2002

I was pretty young for '85 and don't remember a ton about '87 except that the home team won every game, which was kind of lame.

'97 and '02 were unmemorable Series saved by a Game Seven. '87 was compelling, but not all that great (the Cardinals had Dan freakin Driessen starting at 1B and the Twins, I believe, are the only WS champ to give up more runs than they scored during the regular season).

Not sure anything ever will top 1991, but this one is vying for third with 2001 and behind '86. If Carpenter goes 11 shutout tonight--or if Byung-Hyun Kim comes out of the bullpen in the ninth for the Rangers--it could leap into 2nd.

I know. I felt obligated to put them on there. Although blowing the lead in an elimination game as the Giants did made it somewhat memorable.

No one cared about it, but 2005 was a fun Series to watch even though it was a sweep. Every game was tight. Close Game 1. Podsednik walk-off in Game 2. Geoff Blum home run in the 14th inning of Game 3. And a 1-0 game in Game 4.

At least he has MLB Network for the winter. Millons of kids grew up not seeing one game from the end of October to the beginning of March. And my generation had to be satisfied with watching "Bull Durham" and "Major League" on the VCR in January.

And far lesser fare, like "The Slugger's Wife."

I would spend the winter sorting baseball cards and watching All-Star Games we had taped.

Leave to the clown of the NFL threads.

I'd have a hard time putting this one up there because the quality of play has been so poor. The mistakes have made things incredibly more entertaining, but they are mistakes.

Word on the street is that this could be Albert Pujols' last game in a Cardinal uniform.
And Jerome Bettis is from Detroit.
