Agreed. Was a lousy pitch given the count and situation, too.

This game seems to have an air of inevitability surrounding St. Louis. It's been a wild series, with some great individual performances, but the Cardinals winning the World Series is pretty high on the dull scale of sports outcomes.

    how so?

Admittedly not a baseball fan, but aside from the 10 titles vs. Texas' none, I'm not sure how a team that was out of it in August winning the title is dull.

Washington's "huge tactical blunders" seem to be overplayed at this point. What's the biggest gripe? Mismanagement of his bullpen? He didn't think Feliz could go more than 25 pitches. That's defensible. If Feliz comes out and coughs up the two runs in the 10th, then it's, "What made Washington think that Feliz could suddenly go longer than he ever has?" Playing the outfielders back? That run scores anyway with two outs.

I just can't get past the snark and making fun of people. I can't. I'm sick of it. And using the death of Shannon Stone to set up your punchlines about Ron Washington? Fucking sickening. I'm tired of it.

BTW, not from Dallas/Arlington or even Texas for that matter. Just root for all the Dallas-area teams. have done so since I was a kid.

I love Ron Washington (how can one not), and Howard Bryant is right that there is something unmistakably American about him, but he was handed a pretty loaded team. A lot of care has gone into shaping this roster to be throwing Darren Oliver and Scott Feldman with everything on the line.

Jerry Layne needs his eyes checked.

Great Game 6, dud of a Game 7. Sorry baseball pundits, that takes it out of the Best World Series ever discussion.

This one is an anticlimax (so far) after Game 6, but what could top that?
