The bad guys win again. That's not just baseball, it's life.

I feel way worse for Texas fans here than I do for myself and other Cubs fans.

Texas has never won the WS, they were one strike away twice, it looked like the final out was in the air at one point, and they don't get to feel like "at least we made it to the WS" because they lost there last year, too. It's always a special brand of suck having your team lose in the exact same spot two years in a row.

Bud can't read off the teleprompter, like I suspect Stern does? "Car-DIN-als"? Really.

Who's better? The Tigers thumped the Yankees, and then the Rangers thumped the Tigers.

I don't see much serious argument the Rangers were the best in the AL.

Forget a long time. They'll take this to their friggin graves. They'll be forever burdened by this, the way the 2003 Cubs will be forever burdened by that year's NLCS and the 2004 Yankees will be forever burdened by their collapse against the Red Sox.

And the Cardinals thumped the Rangers.

Weird things happen in short series. It makes for entertaining postseason baseball and it decides the champion. But that doesn't mean we have to pretend that it makes them the "best."

Graveyard's full of great teams that won a bunch of games then shit the bed in October.

    Titles count most.

Agreed. Especially since they got home field in a goofball way. And despite being the wild card, they had the same path as the six division winners. The regular season winners don't matter come October.

I'd rather have the WS winner than the best team any day of the week.

The fact that Glenn Beck is somewhere jacking off to all this makes me the saddest boy in the whole world.
