Doesn't it make financial sense for Arkansas to end up in the Cotton Bowl and South Carolina to end up in the Capitol 1 Bowl, even though Arkansas beat South Carolina decisively and is ranked higher? If you have a hard slotting system, you could end up with Arkansas in the Capitol 1 and then send South Carolina to the Cotton Bowl.

If you have such a rigid system, you could end up sending the #3 and #4 teams in a conference going 1000 miles across country instead of going to the bowl games in much closer proximity just because you don't want someone to get "screwed" by getting passed over by a supposedly better bowl game.

I can see where someone gripes about their team getting left out of the national championship game, or even a BCS game, but it's pathetic when someone is griping about going to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl instead of the Outback Bowl.

  2. Unless you're Alabama.

  3. Wait a minute, we do? I'm honestly not sure Alabama is any damn good because I haven't seen them beat anybody. Their best win is Arkansas, who I think is a fraud. Their only other decent win is Penn State, who I know is a fraud.

I know LSU is good. I know Oklahoma State is good. I can't honestly say that about Alabama.

Well, Hawk, write a letter to BigXII presidents. And the Rose Bowl.

Right. Because you can walk into the home office and fill out an application for that. It's like applying for a credit card.

Today was the College Football Crime Family's way of saying, "Look, assholes, we know you're junkies and you're addicted...so we're gonna' butt fuck your wife and set your house on fire as we leave in your car...and ya know what you're gonna' do? You're not gonna' do shit about it. Because you're a junkie and we know you'll watch."

Does the "Washingtons" include the University of Washington which is going to the Alamo Bowl?

Whether you watch or not will not matter. When Bama fans come in droves, that did what matters.

The Fight Hunger Bowl matching UCLA and Illinois is perfect.

I'm old enough to remember when a bowl game earned you an extension if not a better gig somewhere else. Now you have what five or six teams that canned coaches going to bowls?

I believe I saw this is the fourth time Boise has been in the BCS top 10 and been passed over.

I don't get why Va Tech is viewed as a bigger draw against anybody, even Michigan. I can't believe Baylor wasn't chosen as an at-large or that the Cotton Bowl took K-State over them.

And if Michigan State had switched spots with Michigan in the final BCS standings, the Spartans still would have been passed over.

Considering the proximity of those bowls to Waco, the fact that RG3 could win the Heisman and it's Baylor's best season in like 25 years, I'd imagine they would draw a boatload but maybe I'm wrong.

They played at Jerry World two weeks ago against Tech and drew almost 52,000.
