Virginia Tech was picked for the Sugar Bowl because they travel, right? Lunchpail D! They travel well! Travel well! Great fans! Enter Sandman! Travel well! They travel well!

    About that:

    Oops.
FWIW: It took roughly for 40 minutes for Kansas State to sell out it's allotment of tickets to the Cotton Bowl.

Don't forget at least 200 shots of Bud Foster an his very prominent prison pussy goetee. Only one guy has a more famous prison pus than Foster.

Some people actually like defense in football games. Personally the only sport I want to watch a game with a 66-65 score is played on hardwood.

It all starts Saturday baby, with the Wyoming-Temple grudge match at the New Mexico Bowl. The Owls want revenge for that 1990 beatdown in Laramie. This time it's personal!

    Go Pokes!

Help me here. Proxy tickets. Another word for "buying tickets to a game I won't be at?" Or is it "Flushing hard-earned money down the nearest porcelain fixture?"

Fuck the whole who-travels-best-gets-the-nod system with a rusty spork. An abomination across the board.

The Sugar Bowl won't suffer; it's already got the money because Tech had to buy the tickets it can't sell. And no way do the shills on TV mention or show the empty seats at the SD.

Hopefully Tech fans won't fall for this scheme. They're probably gonna get dinged with some surcharge to make up the difference anyway, unless the conference agrees to eat the difference out of its share.

Serves the SB right anyway. KSU and Boise State had better teams and travel better too.

Most of the time, buying from the school gets you crappier seats than buying straight from the bowl. No price break from dear old alma mater either.

My favorite part of the Superdome, from a tour I took one time: No seat is the same color as the one beside it. Keeps it looking full (or at least close to full) even when it isn't.

    I don't get it.

Just because VT fans aren't buying the overpriced tickets that VT is selling doesn't mean they won't travel in droves to the game. They're just getting their tickets elsewhere, for much cheaper.

The Sugar Bowl picked VT because VT fans travel, not because they're more likely to buy 17,500 overpriced tickets from the VT ticket office. The Sugar Bowl gets paid for those 17,500 tickets either way.

Yet people are still saying "See! See! VT can't sell their tickets!!! Their fans don't travel well!!!" And that's just not accurate.

VT could by 65,000 tickets and bring the entire town with them and *still* wouldn't deserve to be there ahead of KState or Boise. Didn't Boise travel like mad to the Fiesta, or am I misremembering? And hasn't KState already started looking for more tickets to the Cotton?

If the Va. Tech fans don't buy tickets, the Sugar Bowl would be well advised to give 'em away up in Blacksburg. Empty seats could become part of the Justice Department's Power Point as they announce the BCS antitrust action.
The two teams in this bowl were picked as part of the Big Conference rigging system and no other reason. Fans have nothing to do with it.
