I just know I got a helluva lot more enjoyment out of Baylor-Washington than I did from Alabama-LSU I.

Then it was its own reward for you. Congrats.

Then watching the slagfest that was LSU-Alabama was your reward, too. Then again, I have a feeling you'd rationalize a 67-56 LSU-Alabama game as being transcendent.

    LSU/Bama I wasn't a good game. Doesn't change the fact that I think they're #1 and #2.

I'd rationalize a 67-56 LSU-Alabama game as both teams' safeties were likely crippled in a bus accident. Which may or may not leave them still better than Baylor's.

Curious- What LSU/Bama score would legitimize the teams for y'all? Would 24-20 justify their existence? 17-14? 35-30?

    You're confusing legitimacy and enjoyment.

LSU and Alabama can be #1 and #2 for the decade, as far as I care. If a meeting between them bores me, that means more to me.

Then switch the two. What score do you demand happen for you to enjoy the game?

It's like pornography. I'll know it when I see it. :)

Oh, LSU and Alabama represent the best and third-best teams in the nation; no doubt of their legitimacy. But that game was more a case of crappy offense than sterling defense.

I will say this about Bama- When's the last time they had a QB that wasn't a good game manager at best, meltdown machine at worst?

Yes, Bama-LSU I wasn't the best played game of the year. It was boring for many. But if I wanted to see teams run up and down the field at will, I'd go watch 8-man high school ball.

Yeah, I'd like to see that too ...
