A question I always wonder: Why kick it on third down? I understand that something might go wrong on the snap and hold and you'd get another chance. But how often, even in a regulation situation, does something go wrong on the snap and hold during a field goal situation whereas the kicker can't get the ball away?

If Georgia looses this game, Richt deserves all the heat he gets over it. Relying on a kid kicking only 62 percent from 40-something yards to win one in overtime is ridiculous.

Well, I hope WE win when we play! I'm against the use of "we" also, especially by beat writers.

But I did have a friend of mine make perfect sense when he said the reason he says "we" is because when he had suffered as long as he had being a fan of his team, he deserved to say we more than the star pitcher who would leave for another team in the blink of an eye.

That was my point. Percentages say you keep running the ball and try to get a first down or as close as possible.

And the kid makes the harder kick.

MSU just needs a TD to win it.

Spartans need to avoid their fourth (?) INT of the day, though.

And your friend is welcome to do so. Just not on here.

Only time I can remember it is Tech-Georgia 1999. Tech had a kick blocked on third down in OT, but recovered behind the LOS and kicked the winner on fourth.

Better known as the Jasper Sanks "fumble" game.

It's never happened that I can remember.

But the bigger question in this situation is why you basically take a knee on 2nd-and-10 from the 25.

So you have 2nd and 3 and don't run the ball on either play?
