    Point being, part of having shiny pretty shootouts like this is having pliant defenses. And I'm more than a little sick of the defense = boring = unworthy meme.

    This is a fun game though.

    West Virginia gained 533 yards against LSU (463 of it passing).

    Being a Big 10 guy, I'd much rather see a defensive struggle than an offensive shootout. That's why I can appreciate what LSU and Alabama have done this year. They're built more like Big 10 teams of old (with more speed obviously) with their physical running game and shutdown defenses.
