Which is true ... if this were 1859.

If Alabama beats LSU 2-0 on safety does Oklahoma State have a shot at title?

I think it's fair to say ol' Brent probably believes it still is. :D

What I found entertaining was that their AD, Dave Brandon, said something along the lines of Michigan is now where they want to be. Hmm, so losing four in a row to in-state rival MSU, beating a very weak Ohio State team for the first time in eight years, backing in to a BCS game and barely winning in overtime against a weak opponent is enough for a school that supposedly has higher standards than many others in the country?

The hits just keep on coming for Auburn. Mike Dyer plans to transfer to Arkansas State:

Every time I see Dana Holgerson I can't help but think he should be driving an oxy bus in an episode of Justified.

Pretty sure he meant winning BCS games, playing in BCS games, winning 11+ games. But yeah, I have no doubt he meant those other things too.

I think Oklahoma State's problem is that LSU would get just as many No. 1 votes.

Which title? The coaches poll is contractually obligated to award its championship to the winner of the BCS title game.

I guess you could be talking about the AP title, which for some reason some people still think matters even a little bit. Might as well win the Dickinson Football News national title.

The AP title is as valid as the BCS title. It's MORE valid than the coaches' poll. They're all just opinion-based frauds.

Double digit wins every year since 2004. They may fall short of national championship expectations every year, and Beamer's record in bowl game is definitely mixed, but there is nothing inexplicable about them having been a top 10 team going into each of those seasons.
