    So how's it look for Michigan that it took overtime to beat a team that lost to Clemson by 30 -- all the while Clemson gave up 70? This is why a playoff system is needed...

    If someone had bet the over on every single bowl game, they'd be doing pretty well right now. Holy crap has there been a lot of scoring in these games.

    What the fuck has happened to defense in college football. And don't give me the spread crap because even pro-style teams like Stanford and Wisconsin are putting up a shit ton of points.

    This is just getting stupid.

    I agree that the defense-optional football is bad. Yes, LSU-Alabama was a little tough to watch because it was a low-scoring game, but I'd rather have that than a game where teams treat one phase of the game almost as an afterthought.

    As opposed to LSU-Bama, which treated offense and placekicking as an afterthought. Sadly, there is still a vestigial element of fandom that wants football to be the equivalent of the Maginot Line.
