I've never been to Boise, but I've heard several people say it is a very nice place to visit.

Mobile is waving its arms and stamping its feets tonight for our consideration.

Entertaining game through the first half, though.

Bowl games are rewards for players and for fans!

And seriously jr/shotty, you'd get no argument from me if you limited bowl participation to teams with 7 wins minimum and 6 having to come against Div-1 schools.
    It oughta be a law.
That'd stop some of these organizers from staging their bowls.

In many cases, that "organizer" is ... ESPN.

    I'd go with these:

    Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
    New Orleans Bowl
    Poinsettia Bowl
    Las Vegas Bowl
    Hawaii Bowl
    Independence Bowl
    Military Bowl
    Holiday Bowl
    Champs Sports Bowl
    Alamo Bowl
    Pinstripe Bowl
    Music City Bowl
    Texas Bowl
    Sun Bowl
    Liberty Bowl
    Chick-fil-A Bowl
    Outback Bowl
    Capital One Bowl
    Gator Bowl
    Rose Bowl
    Fiesta Bowl
    Sugar Bowl
    Orange Bowl
    Cotton Bowl
    BCS National Championship Game

I originally had 23 and added two to get to 25.

If you really want all the details on how shady these bowl games are, read the book Death to the BCS. Goes into great detail on how the entire bowl process works.

The bottom line is, if ESPN keeps wanting to televise these games, the number of bowl games won't go down. ESPN and the bowls will continue to bring in cash, bowl executives will make their six-figure salaries and the schools will lose money every single year.

There's never been a team in history that deserved a reward for going 7-5.

The numbers may not go down but I'm not sure they'll go up either. Like I said, the NCAA can't really stop anybody from starting one but they can sure as hell discourage them. We're right at the maximum number of games that can realistically be guaranteed teams will be available to compete.

Also, I believe the Ticket City Bowl is the only game that has come on-line in the last 8-10 years that isn't owned by ESPN. I don't think the WWL is interested in adding anymore games and - given the economy - I doubt there are many private groups jumping at the chance to start one.
