Running 2012 NFL coaches carousel thread

Gruden is pretty young to settle into an analyst role for the rest of his career.

 

It will be interesting. Coaches with rings expect to be able to buy groceries, or at least have veto power. With the lockout over and at least two owners eager to make their first hires (Miami and St. Louis), I'd figure they will want to make a splash.

 

I read something yesterday (SI, I think...) that said the AJ Smith and Gruden to St. Louis was intentionally leaked to the SD papers to try to get Smith some leverage. Apparently, Fisher is the favorite to take the Rams job and the thinking is that Gruden will stay in the booth and turn down the Fishies...

Of all the coaches who lost their gigs this year - I think Spagnuolo has the best chance at getting another head coaching gig down the road.

I'm still waiting for the first surprise. There seems to be one every year.

 

Short of Andy Reid or Rex Ryan, I can't see who it would be. Even Jason Garrett wouldn't be a total shock.

 

Mine will be if Andy Reid and/or Norv Turner and/or Mike Shanahan stay.

 

Shanahan ain't going anywhere. Snyder is still on the hook for more than $20 mil.

 

How funny would it be if Joshy McDaniels gets another head coaching job.

 

I don't think Shanahan is going anywhere. I think if Reid leaves it will be his choice.

Turner will be fired, it's just a question of when.
